The balance you have or do not have in your life is a reflection of the balance between your thoughts, beliefs and perspective. How you perceive your life, your reality plays an important role in experiencing balance. So many of us look to finding or seeking that balance through what is happen in our lives without realizing that is it s a mere reflection of what is going on inside of us.

We try to seek or find balance by changing the activities going on in our lives, such as using time management skills, prioritizing activities or attempting the endless task of “clearing our plates”. However when we do these things somehow nothing much seems to change. We seem to have even more tasks added to our already full schedules and then we begin trying to once again clear our plates, manage our time better only to find we are on a never ending viscous cycle where nothing seems to change and there is no balance.

Part of the problem is in your mindset…you are trying to “juggle” too many balls or are you? You see it is not in the juggling of so many things at the same time that is the problem but how you are thinking, feeling and believing about the activities that is causing you to think there is no balance. It is your feeling of stress and belief that there is not enough time that is part of the problem. What is the other part of the problem? That would be your denial of your true nature. As you are juggling all these activities you are forgetting that you love what you are doing. You perhaps think of them as have to’s rather than desires to. The “have to” mindset sets up a feeling a stress and resentment rather than looking at the joy these activities brings. If you are doing things because you think you have to even though you really want to how can you ever expect to gain any results? How can you enjoy your child’s singing performance when you are sitting there thinking of all the others things you have to do, texting some answer to a business question and waiting for the performance to be over so you can get home and tackle the next have to?

To actually experience balance without ever changing 1 single activity in your life all you have to do is live in the present moment, focus on one thing at a time. Experience the joy in that present moment. Change your perspective from thinking all these activities are have to’s and see them as desires. Allow yourself to feel the balance that is within you. If you think that you do not have balance in your life, it is that your thinking is not balanced with your desires. It is that you are denying what you are feeling and that your feeling something other than balance. What does balance feel like? “Peacefulness” “Calmness” You are in the flow of life and you can move from activity to activity with a gracefulness and with ease.

You actually create the balance not by seeing the lack of it but by knowing that the balance in there and that is it your perspective that is causing you not to feel it. Balance is not something you seek, find or restore. It is a feeling that resides in you and as such you can create an experience of it.

  • Creating Reality Based on Beliefs

By Mary Anne Cipressy David Trippany ITSC Coaching

Within each of us is a creator aspect. We are empowered to create our lives, our reality and we do so based on our belief system. A belief is a chronic persistent thought about something. Many of our beliefs are ingrained in us from the time we were children. Others we adopt as we progress along our life journey.
